Han-Byoel Lee, MD, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at Seoul National University College of Medicine and is affiliated with the Cancer Research Institute and the Biomedical Research Institute at Seoul National University Hospital. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Biological Science from KAIST and obtained both his MD and PhD from Seoul National University, where he also completed his surgical residency and fellowship in Breast Surgery.
Dr. Lee’s clinical research focuses on de-escalation and optimization of breast cancer surgery, including oncoplastic approaches. He is the principal investigator of the OPTIMIST trial, which explores omission of breast surgery in exceptional responders to neoadjuvant systemic therapy, and he participates in more than 20 prospective clinical studies in Korea and internationally.
His translational research centers on developing genomic and spatial tools for precision oncology. He developed an NGS-based multigene expression assay for HR+/HER2− breast cancer and is a key investigator in the SLACS (Spatially-resolved Laser Activated Cell Sorting) platform for spatial genomics and transcriptomics.
Dr. Lee serves as Director of the Registry Program Committee of the Korean Breast Cancer Society (KBCS) and sits on the scientific committees of GBCC, KBCS, KSSO, and KOGO.

Publications & Research - With a strong research interest, Dr. Martin earned her Masters of Public Health from the University of Sydney and completed her PhD at the University of Western Australia. Her doctoral research focused on predictors of recurrence of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer, with a particular emphasis on mammographic breast density.
As a principal investigator of multiple clinical trials, including investigator-initiated trials, Dr. Martin has made significant contributions to breast cancer research. She has numerous publications and has presented her research locally and internationally. Additionally, she is a regular contributor, by invitation, to the Breast Cancer Research Review.

Dr. Roland Ching Yu Leung

Dr Roland Ching Yu Leung is a medical oncologist trained in the US at New York University Medical Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
His main interest is the exploration of predictive bio-markers in the clinical treatment of cancer. With the explosion of molecular targeted therapies with specific target of action, it is imperative that oncologists have access to technology which can predict which patients will benefit most from these treatment and not expose patients to empirical treatment. Since returning to Hong Kong 10 years ago, Dr Leung focuses on breast cancer, adenocarcinoma of lung, neuroendocrine tumuors and tumours with targetable genetic aberrations like melanoma, some GI cancers, GISTs and a subset of sarcomas.

Professor Wonshik Han

Dr. Han received his MD and PhD degrees from the Seoul National University (SNU) College of Medicine, Korea. He has started faculty appointment in SNU since 2004. Starting from 2015, he has become a tenured Professor of SNU College of Medicine. He is former Chief of Breast Care Center in Seoul National University Hospital. He is now the Chairman of board of directors in Korean Breast Cancer Society (2023-2025) and Global Breast Cancer Conference (GBCC). He is also a member of board of directors in The Korean Cancer Association and Korea Genome Organization. He has been devoted to both breast cancer patient care and research. He has published more than 400 original articles in peer reviewed journals. His research interest includes breast cancer genomics, surgical techniques and their oncologic outcomes, and personalized treatment of breast cancer with new biomarkers. He is leading various ongoing multicenter trials in South Korea.
Dr. Dhanusha Sabanathan

Dr Dhanusha Sabanathan is a Consultant Medical Oncologist in the Breast service at the Lakeside Specialist Breast Clinic and Nepean Cancer Care Centre. She also holds an academic appointment as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney and Macquarie University. Her clinical practice and research are devoted to the treatment of breast cancer with a personalised holistic approach using the latest evidence-based medicine.
After graduating in Medicine from the University of New South Wales, Dr. Sabanathan completed her specialty training in Medical Oncology at the Crown Princess Mary Cancer Care Centre. Dr. Sabanathan completed her Post Graduate Fellowship in Clinical Trials at Westmead Hospital and Macquarie University. During this training she has specialised in early phase trials and has also completed a Masters of Research. She has recently submitted her PhD thesis looking at a Phase I trial in advanced solid tumors. She has also completed a Master of Medicine in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Sydney. She is widely published and has presented her work at national and international meetings.

Dr. Nick Zdenkowski
